There will be an array of arts activities, booths, group projects, artwork displays, and “walk through the park” to admire all the Art Boards. This fun event will be held in Hugh Taylor Birch State Park located between the beach and the Intra Coastal on East Sunrise Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale. ART BOARDS Teachers: get your students involved! Parents: get your kids involved! Community Partners (Businesses): Sponsor an Art Board and promote your business. Create an Art Board to be displayed along the path. You may use foam core or cardboard. Illustrate an art movement, period, specific artist or artwork, or create an original masterpiece on the board. Bring the board to set up at 8 am event day, or deliver to Cypress Bay prior to February 25. Label Board on the front with School, Teacher, students or class, club, or Business Sponsor. ART BOOTHS Promote your school’s art program through an Arts Activity Booth. Organize a simple arts activity/make & take project for participants to complete on site. You need to provide volunteers to man the booth and all activities must be free. If you sponsor an activity booth you are then allowed to have fundraising items for sale – this cannot be the activity. ART POSTCARDS Have each of your students create art postcards with their artwork on one side and a few words of the “Importance of Art” or “Art affects my life…” on half of the back, leave the other half blank for addressing. Postcards may be 3.5” x 5” minimum and 6”x 4.25” maximum. These will be sent to various elected officials after the event. ART CONTESTS Onsite Sculpture, Painting, and Drawing contests. Individual and team categories. Your school/club could sponsor one of these as your booth. ART YOURSELF OUT Costume contest – Dress as your favorite Artist or just plain “Artsy”. Prizes to be awarded for the Most “ARTTED OUT” in elementary, middle, high, and adult categories. EARN PRIZES!!
